Cheers to the long holiday weekend, yaay!
Now, regardless of what your plans might be, we all know the holidays aren’t really complete without some much needed movie binge. I remember growing up watching Home Alone and listening to old Boney M albums, it became a tradition, and one I intentionally try to recreate every year.
If like me, you have some time to splurge on Christmas movies and you are wondering where to start from, here are a few of my top recommendations.
I’m a fan of all Forrest Whittaker movies and I was so excited to see him in a musical to boot. With a star studded cast, jingle jangle is about how an eccentric toymaker loses it all when an apprentice betrays him by stealing his work, with the store on the verge of foreclosure, his grand daughter sets out to retrieve the book of inventions.
This movie tells the story of family and how those bonds see us through the tough times of life. Overcome with grief, A man spoils his children terribly after their mother’s death but he now has to deal with his actions and his unruly children as he loses his job during the holidays.
Let It Snow
Christmas Eve brings a present in the form of a snow storm to a sleepy town, the storm has various effects on a group of teenagers lives and they have to sort through the maze of friend zones, unwanted feelings and an unavoidable tragedy. High school drama plus Christmas, yes please!
The Holiday Calendar
If you watched the vampire diaries, you’d remember Bonnie the witch. She is the female lead in this exciting rom-com and acts the part of a struggling photographer who inherits an antique calendar that seems to predict the future. The storyline was a bit cliche but it still made for an interesting watch.
I’m eager to find more interesting movies. If you know of any that is worth the time, do share them in the comments.
