Valentine’s Day Options For All The Single Ladies

Ideas for Valentine

I saw a joke that whoever removed February 29th and 30th should do the same to February 14th. Haha. I am one hundred percent up for that. Not to be a Debby downer but Valentine’s day is one of the most stressful holidays. It is like, “you have to love someone and you have to do it NOW!” lol.

If you’re not in a romantic relationship, you might feel some pressure and may even feel sad about the holiday. I’m here to tell you that you can celebrate Valentine’s Day on your own. And no, it doesn’t have to involve you sobbing into a bucket of ice cream and a bottle of wine and drink-dialing your exes.

Here are some ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day on your own.

Buy yourself gifts

I am a big believer in buying things for one’s self . It is one of my top things to do for self care and self love. Get yourself something you have been wanting. You can even go the extra mile and address it to with a cute note or whatever. It’s not weird, I promise. Lol. Just eee yourself as a boss babe that can do things for yourself.

Plan a romantic dinner at home

Girl, I’m here to tell you that you can be your own date. Order or cook a fancy meal for yourself, light some scented candles and put on some John Meyer classics, while you eat and drink fancy wine.

It doesn’t even have to be all fancy. A good plate of party jollof rice and asun from your favorite restaurant can look fancy if you put it on a nice place setting.

Organize a virtual sleepover

We’re in the middle of a pandemic, did you forget??! If you and your girls can test for covid and then meet up for a nice sleepover then why not? If you can’t however, you can throw a virtual one via Zoom or even Clubhouse. Discuss with your girls and have a good time.

Make a vision board or mood board

We are still in the beginning of the year. 2021 is still pretty fresh and I know some of you haven’t made your vision board and mood boards for the year. You can have a little party with some arts and crafts while you create a giant vision board. Put all your goals on it and start to manifest all of them.

Take a trip/staycation

This is also part of treating yourself. If you have money to spare for it, you could check into a nice hotel or a nice stay let where you are pampered and taken care of.

Give gifts to friends, family and others

Valentine’s Day is about love, yes. But does it have to be romantic? If you love your family, friends and colleagues, you can make the day about them. Surprise them with something special and be their Valentine.

Work your butt off

This may sound unusual, but it is actually not a bad way to spend this day. You could pour all your energy into work for that day and be super productive. Before you know it, it’s 10pm, you take a glass of wine and go to bed.

Just ignore the holiday

This just might be my favorite one. It is definitely the most difficult option and will require you deleting all your social media apps so that you don’t get any reminders.

Just go about your normal day. It’s only 24 hours. And that too shall pass.

And there you have it. Ways to celebrate your Valentine’s without a partner. For all that have partners, go ahead and have a fantastic time and enjoy the love. Happy Valentine’s Day in advance!!
