Pandemic Yes, But Let’s Make It Fashion!

Woman in high fashion during the pandemic

It’s hard to slay when you have been at home and forced into restricted movement. But like I always say, there will be life after the #Coronovirus o. As for me, I have been consuming lots of fashion content on Instagram, TikTok and other platforms these days. This has made me realize how raggedy my wardrobe is.

I mean, I used to dress “okay” in my opinion. But somehow, not going anywhere has made me realize that there is so much missing from my wardrobe. Not necessarily the extra stuff, but basic fashion staples that you can wear in many different ways to pull off a ton of amazing looks.

So, I’m making a mental as well as a literal list to remind myself of the things I need to buy post lockdown. Hopefully, all this can be over by summer so that our outfits won’t be stuck in the wardrobe still next year. Yikes.

If you want to share my list, you’re welcome to. And if you’re an avid online shopper, you don’t even have to wait for the end of the lockdown. Your dream TikTok wardrobe is just a few taps away.

Here are the goods. *wink

A wide-brimmed hat. Make that two

Wide-brimmed hats are so chic and can transform an outfit from 0-100. Or from basic to Michelle Obama, real quick! In fact, I’m noting it down that I’m getting one in every solid colour and 2 raffia styled one.

Chunky Knuckle rings. I mean, real chunky

There’s just something about rings that make me look richer than the 1800 Naira in my bank account. I know it works for means I bet it’ll work for you too.

The more the merrier, so I’m sure going to stack them up.

Necklaces

Fashion connoisseurs swear by necklaces and they usually advise that you layer them. Layering necklaces of different lengths help your neck look slender and generally helps you look bougie. And that’s what we want, right?! Right!

Slim sunglasses

Asides from the alte group, this is actually a fashion fave amongst many people. It gives that edgy-chic look and can be dressed up or down.

Clutch purses

You know those ones that remind you of what your mom and grandmas used to wear? Yup. They are back in style and you can find really inexpensive ones from Zara and ASOS.

Strappy sandals and heels

My shoe collection is currently a sad story. So many of them are worn, old and have surely seen better days. A lot of them are pumps which are sooo…3 seasons ago.

Every girl needs a pair of strappy high heels that complete almost every look. Date night, brunch with the girls, even office slay. It’s versatile enough.

What’s on your shopping list? Let me know so I can definitely add it to mine.
