This can be done online or offline. Many children need to be tutored and take extra lessons. You can use your certificate to teach subjects like English or the sciences. You could take on younger children in lower classes and work your way up. You could also teach online. There are websites you can sign up for that help you teach anything from languages to how to cook.
As a student, you could teach your classmates and/or your juniors at school. Organise effective tutorials that break down their syllabus and make it easy for them to study and pass.
Become a Social Media Manager
Small businesses, now more than ever, are beginning to realise the importance of a social media presence. But they may not have all the time to learn about algorithms, trends and what times of the day to post. You can take this up for them. Many brands and companies look for social media managers that work freelance as opposed to those that work with companies. This is because there is a more personal feel that the freelance worker brings to their brand. It’s okay if you aren’t an expert at this, you can always learn! Sell an E-book
If you already have a good social media presence and you are known for something, then you can put together a small e-book and make some extra money from it. For example, you’re great at cooking and you show snippets of that on your Instagram, you can put together an e-noon of recipes to sell to your followers at a token. Let us give it some context. You have 3000 followers and your e-book costs 1000 per copy. If 100 of your followers purchase it, you get 100,000 for just your knowledge. With little to no production cost. It only goes uphill from there.
Become a childcare provider
If you really truly love kids you can offer to babysit the kids in your neighbourhood for a fee. Often times these days, parents are back to work a short time after having their kids. And they don’t know where to put them when they are at work. Structured kindergarten and daycare centres cost a lot of money. So if you’re a trustworthy neighbour, they’ll gladly hand them over to you. Try not to take on so many kids at once. And of course, take care of them properly and with all your heart.
Start a Small Business
It may seem overwhelming to start a business but with the right research and strategy, you can start a lucrative business even from your sofa. Social media helps with publicity and you can have a whole business structure without ever having to meet your customers face to face.
There are so many other jobs that can bring you extra money as well as some satisfaction, all from the comfort of your home. So don’t let not having a 9-5 distract or discourage you. You can always get something else going. Cheers to 2020.
