You know all those aspire-to-perspire-before-you-retire posts? Exactly, those ones that tell you to give up sleeping, give up watching movies just so you can have a slight chance at success? Omo! If they had the chance, they will even ask you to give up breathing. Lol. As for me, few things spell relaxation like sitting in front of my TV or laptop screen watching a show I like. If by any chance Netflix has released new movies, best believe half of my weekend plans will be left hanging.
If you are a movie lover, and wondering what else is online to watch, you should check out all the Nigerian movies making the rounds. Here are some I have personally enjoyed.
These are my favorite recently released movies on Netflix!
Nneka the pretty serpent: I remember this film was popular when I was little. It was first released in 1994, and then it was remade and released on Netflix in August. The plot -a young girl who witnessed the death of her parents is out for revenge- is still the same, but the scenes and acting are top-notch.
Sanitation Day: This movie is a crime thriller. The basic plot is: one sanitation day morning, people woke up to the corpse of a young man. Who killed him? The Nigerian police start an investigation. Nse Ikpe-Etim is in the movie, so you know it’s going to be excellent acting.
Quam’s Money: This movie was recently released on Netflix. It has all the stars from Falz, Toni Tones, Nse Ikpe-Etim, and Jemima Osunde.
Brother Jekwu: if you like drama comedies, then this one is for you. A village hustler, tired of poverty, is determined to make it big. But you cannot pluck money from a tree, yes? This funny movie follows the journey of the hustler.
King of Boys: The return of the king! Everyone is talking about this movie, which is actually a series. Kemi Adetiba did an excellent job with this sequel to King of Boys. There are places where I had questions, but I won’t say anything before I spoil it for you. Note, it’s possible this has been taken off screen in which case, sorry. Let’s hope it makes a come back.
